Spider Control & Web Removal

Most spiders are harmless, but webs, egg sacs and the occasional bite are unwelcome. We remove webs and egg sacs, treat hiding spots and cut the insect food supply that keeps them coming back.

Introduction

What are spiders?

Spiders are not insects — they are arachnids, with eight legs and two main body parts. Indoors, they build webs in corners, behind furniture, around lights and in store rooms, or hunt actively across walls and floors at night.

The spiders most often found in Pakistani homes and offices include cellar spiders with long thin legs, common house spiders that build tangled cobwebs, large fast huntsman spiders, and small jumping spiders. Medically significant species such as widow spiders exist but are rarely encountered indoors.

A lot of spiders usually means a lot of insects for them to eat. Our spider control combines web and egg-sac removal, treatment of cracks and hiding places, lighting advice and control of the insects that attract spiders in the first place.

Common spiders species in Pakistan

Correct identification decides the treatment. These are the types our technicians find most often.

Cellar spider

Pholcus phalangioides
Size: Body 7–8 mm, long legs

Pale with very long, thin legs; hangs upside-down in loose webs in ceiling corners, basements and bathrooms.

Common house spider

Parasteatoda tepidariorum
Size: 4–8 mm

Brownish with a rounded abdomen; builds tangled cobwebs in corners, windows and under furniture.

Huntsman spider

Heteropoda venatoria
Size: Leg span up to 10–12 cm

Large, flat and very fast; hunts cockroaches at night on walls and ceilings. Alarming to see but not dangerous.

Widow spiders

Size: 8–15 mm

Glossy dark spiders with a rounded abdomen. Rare indoors, but their bite is medically significant and needs medical attention.

Health risk

Why spiders are a problem

Bites (rare)

Most house spiders cannot or rarely bite people. Bites usually cause mild redness and swelling; widow spider bites can cause more serious symptoms and need medical care.

Unhygienic webs

Webs and egg sacs collect dust and make homes, warehouses and offices look neglected.

Sign of other pests

Many spiders mean many insects — spiders often point to a hidden fly, cockroach or ant problem.

Anxiety & phobia

Fear of spiders is very common; frequent sightings can cause real distress for families and staff.

Warning signs

Signs of a spider infestation

  • Cobwebs in ceiling corners, windows and around lights
  • Round, silky egg sacs in webs or hidden corners
  • Spiders running along walls at night
  • Webs in store rooms, garages and warehouses

Spiders: questions people ask

Answers to the most searched questions about spiders in Pakistan.

Ask us a question

Are house spiders in Pakistan dangerous?

Most spiders found in homes, such as cellar spiders, house spiders, huntsman and jumping spiders, are harmless to people. Widow spiders are medically significant but rare indoors. If someone is bitten and develops severe pain or other symptoms, seek medical care.

Why do I have so many spiders in my house?

Spiders go where their food is. A lot of spiders usually means there are plenty of insects — flies, mosquitoes, ants or cockroaches — plus quiet, undisturbed corners to build webs in.

How do I keep spiders away permanently?

Remove webs and egg sacs regularly, reduce clutter, seal gaps, use warm-tone outdoor lighting and control the insects spiders eat. A professional residual treatment in hiding places helps keep numbers low.

Do spiders lay eggs in houses?

Yes. Female spiders produce silky egg sacs that can contain dozens to hundreds of eggs, hidden in webs, corners and behind furniture. Removing egg sacs is an important part of control.

Is it safe to spray for spiders indoors?

Professional treatment targets cracks, frames and hiding places rather than open living surfaces, and is safe when family members and pets stay away until it dries.
